If you are traveling with a party of 4 or more, you can find that the taxis at Lisbon Airport have a maximum amount of passengers so it is advisable to book a private Lisbon Airport Transfer.

Taxis at Lisbon Airport

However, if you decide to catch a taxi on arriving in Lisbon, you will find two taxi stands outside of the airport terminals, one at arrivals and one at departures. When you get into the taxi, you should always check that the meter is reading 2.50€ for a daytime pick-up but you will be charged and additional 20% for a hiring a taxi at the weekends, bank holidays or in the evening (21:00 to 06:00).

An extra charge of 1.60€ will be charged for transportation of animals or luggage. It is advised that you should check with the taxi driver the fares before taking the taxi. If traveling outside of the city then fares are per kilometre.

You can catch taxi's all around the city centre and late at night when the metro closes at 1am then taxi is the best option. If traveling around the city centre then the fares should be not much more than 10€. Lisbon taxis are beige in colour and have a TAXI sign on top of the vehicle.
